Presence

Presence is an ongoing film series initiated in 2021 and comprising over thirty short films made through durational listening and collaborative engagement with landscape across the United States. The works form a growing archive of Field Studies in Belonging, grounded in the inquiry: how does land become ancestral?

Rooted in recognition and reparation, the practice investigates relationalities between place, body, memory, and displacement. Movement emerges as a somatic language shaped by each site, allowing landscape to

guide perception rather than be represented. In a socio-political moment marked by environmental precarity, fragmentation, and accelerated modes of living, Presence positions listening as a radical act, slowing attention and reorienting the body toward care, reciprocity, and embodied responsibility.

The series invites viewers into a contemplative space of form, movement, and color, where internal and external landscapes converge and presence itself becomes the medium.
